esprit-eterna-ac-power-cord
Esprit Eterna AC Power Cord (US Plug) – Handmade in France

Richard Cesari often reminds listeners that the signal in a power cord is fragile. Wi-Fi, phones and power supplies can all disturb it, and in a resolving system, he says, such details around a power cord become enormous.

The Esprit Eterna Audiophile Power Cord is a mains cable from Esprit's Eterna range. Esprit hand-builds the Eterna power cord in Confolens, Charente, with a US plug and an IEC connector, in 1.5, 2 and 4 m.

A reference since 1999

The Eterna name has been an Esprit reference since 1999, and the Eterna power cord belongs to its tenth generation. Esprit calls this generation a turning point because it is where dielectric polarization arrives, and the Eterna power cord benefits from it. As Esprit explains it, polarization stabilizes the electrostatic environment of the Eterna power cord and preserves the integrity of its signal with greater coherence. Esprit describes Eterna links as built on reinforced conductor density and optimized dielectrics, often with air insulation and more evolved shielding, the brief behind the Eterna power cord.

Made in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eterna power cord by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eterna power cord is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eterna power cord is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

What you hear

Esprit hears a clear gain in silence, image depth and precision at the Eterna level, and it describes the Eterna power cord as more open, more nuanced and more immersive.

Esprit shields its mains cables in full so they do not radiate into nearby interconnects and speaker cables, and the Eterna power cord is built that way. The conductors of the Eterna power cord are specified as Phase & Neutral: 11 AWG / Ground: 13-14 AWG, with a strand size of 0.37mm. The construction of the Eterna power cord is described as dual-shield twisted core with wrapped earth and outer shield plus polarization process. Esprit fits the Eterna power cord with its own US plug and IEC connector, in aluminum shells as on all cords from Eterna upward.

Where it fits

The Eterna power cord is level 4 of Esprit's nine, above Celesta and below Aura. The Eterna power cord comes in 1.5, 2 and 4 m with a US plug and an IEC connector. Tell us about your components and we'll gladly help you settle on the right Eterna power cord.
