You can choose the finest ingredients for an RCA interconnect and still get it wrong, he says, while the right combination gives excellent results.

The Esprit Eterna RCA Interconnect is a pair of RCA interconnects from Esprit's Eterna range. Esprit hand-builds the Eterna RCA interconnect in Confolens, Charente, in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs. Like every current Esprit cable, the Eterna RCA interconnect belongs to Generation 10.

“Vocals projected nicely into my room and I could hear the little inflections and details of different singers’ voices clearly.”

— David Robson, Hifi Pig, reviewing the previous-generation Eterna loom (2021)

A reference since 1999

The Eterna name has been an Esprit reference since 1999, and the Eterna RCA interconnect belongs to its tenth generation. Esprit calls this generation a turning point because it is where dielectric polarization arrives, and the Eterna RCA interconnect benefits from it. As Esprit explains it, polarization stabilizes the electrostatic environment of the Eterna RCA interconnect and preserves the integrity of its signal with greater coherence. Esprit describes Eterna links as built on reinforced conductor density and optimized dielectrics, often with air insulation and more evolved shielding, the brief behind the Eterna RCA interconnect.

Made in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eterna RCA interconnect by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eterna RCA interconnect is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eterna RCA interconnect is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

What you hear

Esprit hears a clear gain in silence, image depth and precision at the Eterna level, and it describes the Eterna RCA interconnect as more open, more nuanced and more immersive.

The Eterna RCA interconnect combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Air forms part of the insulation of the Eterna RCA interconnect, as specified: air insulation + high-temperature polyvinyl chloride (PVC) + silicone. Polarization on the Eterna RCA interconnect holds its insulators under a continuous voltage so they stay in a stable state, which Esprit links to clearer micro-detail, a more structured stage and greater fluidity.

Where it fits

The Eterna RCA interconnect is level 4 of Esprit's nine, above Celesta and below Aura. The Eterna RCA interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m lengths. Tell us about your components and we'll gladly help you settle on the right Eterna RCA interconnect.
