Collection: Power Amplifiers

A power amplifier takes a line-level signal from a preamp, or from a DAC or streamer with volume control, and drives your speakers. Separating the power amp from the preamp lets each be designed for its own job, and mono amplifiers go further with one chassis per channel. This collection includes stereo, mono and multichannel power amplifiers from NuPrime, AMC, ADCOM and Eversolo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a preamp with a power amplifier?

Yes, unless your source has its own volume control. Many DACs and streamers can drive a power amplifier directly.

What is the benefit of mono amplifiers?

Each channel gets its own power supply and chassis, which improves channel separation and leaves more headroom per speaker.

Can I use a power amplifier in a home theater?

Yes. Multichannel and multi-unit setups are common, and our Home Theater & Multichannel collection lists amplifiers designed for it.
