About the Dual CS 429
Dual CS 429: Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable
For a system built around the pleasure of records rather than the mechanics of playing them, the Dual CS 429 offers automatic tonearm movement at the touch of a button. Its adjustable arm and supplied Ortofon 2M Red keep flexibility alongside everyday convenience.
System matching
A switchable built-in phono stage lets you connect to a suitable line input, or bypass it for your own phono stage. Use phono mode with a compatible phono input; line mode is for a line-level input.
How it fits the Dual range
Compared with the factory-set, two-speed CS 329, the CS 429 offers adjustable tracking force and antiskating, an Ortofon 2M Red and 78 rpm. The CS 529 adds a twin-gimbal arm and Bluetooth audio and remote-control functions.

Independent review
In AVForums’s CS 429 review, Ed Selley praised its convenience, neutral balance and build quality, while noting that comparable manual turntables can offer stronger outright sonic performance.
For shellac 78 rpm records, use a suitable 78 rpm stylus or cartridge; the normal LP stylus is not intended for shellac playback.
Warranty
Dual’s CS-Series consumer warranty covers manufacturing and design defects for five years from the original purchase invoice, subject to its terms. Wear items including the belt, cartridge and stylus are excluded. Keep your original invoice.
