About the Dual CS 718Q

Dual CS 718Q: Reference Direct-Drive Turntable

The Dual CS 718Q is a reference platform for building a vinyl front end around your own cartridge and phono stage. Quartz-controlled direct drive meets an adjustable carbon–aluminum tonearm, spring-applied tracking force and both RCA and XLR phono connections.

System matching

A cartridge and external phono stage are required and are not included. Choose a cartridge and phono stage that match each other; the RCA and XLR sockets carry a phono-level signal, not a ready-to-use line-level output.

How it fits the Dual range

Unlike the CS 618Q, the CS 718Q has a height-adjustable carbon–aluminum sandwich tonearm, azimuth adjustment, dynamic spring-applied tracking force and XLR as well as RCA phono outputs. It does not include a cartridge or built-in phono stage.

Independent review

In STEREO’s CS 718Q review, Matthias Böde praised its organized, tonally full and musical presentation, adjustable tonearm and RCA/XLR connectivity. The review also notes that a cartridge is not supplied and there is no manual fine-speed adjustment.

For shellac 78 rpm records, use a suitable 78 rpm stylus or cartridge; the normal LP stylus is not intended for shellac playback.

Warranty

Dual’s CS-Series consumer warranty covers manufacturing and design defects for five years from the original purchase invoice, subject to its terms. Wear items including the belt, cartridge and stylus are excluded. Keep your original invoice.
