At Esprit, a phono cable is not released just because it is technically interesting. Richard Cesari says a phono cable has to be right musically, and every cable is validated by ear before it is released.
The Esprit Aura Phono Tonearm Cable is a pair of tonearm cables from Esprit's Aura range. The Aura phono cable is assembled by hand at Esprit's workshop in Confolens, in 1.2 and 1.8 m pairs and three connection types.
The idea
Esprit calls Aura a decisive advance, a range of more sophisticated architectures conceived for high-end systems, and the Aura phono cable is drawn from it. At this level Esprit reinforces conductor density again, part of the groundwork of the Aura phono cable. Esprit describes the shielding of Aura's analog links as reinforced, and the Aura phono cable is one of them. Aura sits at the center of Esprit's nine ranges, the point where the Aura phono cable begins to reach toward the most resolving systems.
By hand, in Charente
In Confolens, Charente, the Aura phono cable is made the way Esprit has always worked, entirely by hand. Esprit says this hand method lets it control every step of making the Aura phono cable and keep each one consistent. Each Aura phono cable then passes two complete inspections, one by its assembler and one at final packing, before it leaves the workshop. It is unhurried work, and the Aura phono cable is made at its pace.
The sound, in Esprit's words
In Esprit's words, the Aura phono cable makes a system quieter, more stable and more immersive, bringing out micro-information, deepening the stage and giving dynamics more freedom.
The Aura phono cable combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Its connectors are Esprit's own Eh 100 type, built around a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating, because Esprit designs a connector on the Aura phono cable as an extension of the conductor itself. Esprit specifies the shielding of the Aura phono cable as non-floating, filtered double shielded in pure silver plated copper. Each conductor of the Aura phono cable is made of 40 strands of 40 AWG.
Finding your place in the range
The Aura phono cable is level 5 of Esprit's nine, above Eterna and below Lumina. The Aura phono cable is offered RCA to RCA, DIN to RCA or DIN to XLR, in 1.2 and 1.8 m, so check the output of your tonearm and the input of your phono stage. You can see the Aura phono cable beside the other Esprit ranges in our Esprit collection.

Questions
How does the Aura phono cable differ from the Eterna phono cable?
The Aura phono cable sits one level above the Eterna phono cable. Compared with the Eterna phono cable, the Aura phono cable uses shielding specified as non-floating, filtered double shielded in pure silver plated copper.
Which connectors does the Aura phono cable use?
The Aura phono cable uses Esprit Eh 100 connectors, which have a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating. Esprit has developed several connector generations so that each range, the Aura phono cable included, has an interface matched to it.
Which connection should I order for the Aura phono cable?
The Aura phono cable is made RCA to RCA, DIN to RCA, or DIN to XLR. Look at the socket on your tonearm base and the input on your phono stage, or send us both model names and we will confirm the right Aura phono cable for them.
What does the Aura phono cable cost?
The Aura phono cable ranges from $2,199 to $3,099 per pair, depending on the options you choose. Sales tax is included in the price of the Aura phono cable, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.
Where is the Aura phono cable made, and when will it ship?
Esprit builds every Aura phono cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Aura phono cable usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
