The story behind every Esprit XLR interconnect begins in 1996. That year Richard Cesari, a lifelong lover of music and hi-fi, began making cables, the work that leads to this XLR interconnect.

The Esprit Aura XLR Balanced Interconnect is a pair of balanced interconnects from Esprit's Aura range. The Aura XLR interconnect is assembled by hand at Esprit's workshop in Confolens, in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs. Like every current Esprit cable, the Aura XLR interconnect belongs to Generation 10.

“With interconnect cables, everything increases still further, for an even more obvious result with the symmetrical cable compared to the asymmetrical one…”

— Vincent Guillemin, Vumètre, reviewing the Aura G9, the previous generation (2025)

The idea

Esprit calls Aura a decisive advance, a range of more sophisticated architectures conceived for high-end systems, and the Aura XLR interconnect is drawn from it. At this level Esprit reinforces conductor density again and works with twisted asymmetric dielectrics, the groundwork of the Aura XLR interconnect. Dielectric polarization, introduced one level below with Eterna, continues in the Aura XLR interconnect. Esprit describes the shielding of Aura's analog links as reinforced, and the Aura XLR interconnect is one of them.

By hand, in Charente

In Confolens, Charente, the Aura XLR interconnect is made the way Esprit has always worked, entirely by hand. Esprit says this hand method lets it control every step of making the Aura XLR interconnect and keep each one consistent. Each Aura XLR interconnect then passes two complete inspections, one by its assembler and one at final packing, before it leaves the workshop. It is unhurried work, and the Aura XLR interconnect is made at its pace.

The sound, in Esprit's words

In Esprit's words, the Aura XLR interconnect makes a system quieter, more stable and more immersive, bringing out micro-information, deepening the stage and giving dynamics more freedom.

The Aura XLR interconnect combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Polarization on the Aura XLR interconnect holds its insulators under a continuous voltage so they stay in a stable state, which Esprit links to clearer micro-detail, a more structured stage and greater fluidity. Its connectors are Esprit's own Eh 100 type, built around a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating, because Esprit designs a connector on the Aura XLR interconnect as an extension of the conductor itself.

Finding your place in the range

The Aura XLR interconnect is level 5 of Esprit's nine, above Eterna and below Lumina. The Aura XLR interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m lengths. You can see the Aura XLR interconnect beside the other Esprit ranges in our Esprit collection.

Questions

How does the Aura XLR interconnect differ from the Eterna XLR interconnect?

The Aura XLR interconnect sits one level above the Eterna XLR interconnect. Compared with the Eterna XLR interconnect, the Aura XLR interconnect uses shielding specified as non-floating, double full plus partially shielded and asymmetrical twisted dielectric on air.

Does the Aura XLR interconnect use dielectric polarization?

Yes. Esprit lists the polarization of the Aura XLR interconnect as "Yes". On the Aura XLR interconnect, a continuous voltage keeps the insulators in a stable state, which Esprit says limits dielectric relaxation and absorption for more coherent, quieter transmission.

Which length of the Aura XLR interconnect should I choose?

Measure the run between the two components and add a little slack so the Aura XLR interconnect is not under tension. The Aura XLR interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs, and a short, direct run is usually the simplest choice.

What does the Aura XLR interconnect cost?

The Aura XLR interconnect is $3,799 for 0.6 m, $5,199 for 1.2 m, $6,599 for 1.8 m and $7,999 for 2.4 m per pair. Sales tax is included in the price of the Aura XLR interconnect, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Aura XLR interconnect made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Aura XLR interconnect by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Aura XLR interconnect usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
