Richard Cesari says the assembly of an RCA interconnect counts as much as its materials. You can have the finest conductors in the world, he says, but if an RCA interconnect is assembled approximately, you lose everything.

The Esprit Beta RCA Interconnect is a pair of RCA interconnects from Esprit's Beta range. The Beta RCA interconnect is assembled by hand at Esprit's workshop in Confolens, in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs.

“The image had some real three-dimensionality to it, with a stage that runs deeper than wider…”

— Alan Sircom, Hi-Fi+, reviewing the previous-generation Alpha power cord and Beta cables (2020)

The idea

Inside Esprit, the Beta range goes by a nickname, the "cable killer", and the Beta RCA interconnect belongs to that family. Esprit builds Beta around fine-strand pure copper, optimized insulation and protection against high-frequency interference, the foundations of the Beta RCA interconnect. Its dielectrics are controlled and its shielding is adapted to each use, so the Beta RCA interconnect is protected in the way its own signal needs. The aim Esprit sets for the range is fluid, coherent transmission in analog and digital alike, and the Beta RCA interconnect is built to that brief.

By hand, in Charente

Every Beta RCA interconnect is assembled entirely by hand in Esprit's workshop in Confolens, in the Charente region of France. The work starts from bare copper strand, and the insulators and protective layers of the Beta RCA interconnect are applied by hand. Twists are made by hand on the Beta RCA interconnect, and so is the fitting of its shields. The person who assembled the Beta RCA interconnect checks it completely, and a second full inspection follows at final packing.

How it sounds

Esprit describes the sound of the range as balanced, dynamic and remarkably legible, and it presents the Beta RCA interconnect as a foundation for a stable, musical system.

The Beta RCA interconnect combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Esprit has found that very fine strands help high-frequency detail, provided the insulation keeps the treble in check, and the Beta RCA interconnect uses fine-strand pure copper. Its connectors are Esprit's own Eh 50 type, built around a copper body with a silver-plated copper center pin (5-micron silver), because Esprit designs a connector on the Beta RCA interconnect as an extension of the conductor itself.

Finding your place in the range

The Beta RCA interconnect is level 2 of Esprit's nine, above Alpha and below Celesta. The Beta RCA interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m lengths. We're always glad to help you choose, so write to us about the Beta RCA interconnect at any time. You can see the Beta RCA interconnect beside the other Esprit ranges in our Esprit collection.

Questions

How does the Beta RCA interconnect differ from the Alpha RCA interconnect?

The Beta RCA interconnect sits one level above the Alpha RCA interconnect. Compared with the Alpha RCA interconnect, the Beta RCA interconnect uses asymmetrical dielectric on air.

Which connectors does the Beta RCA interconnect use?

The Beta RCA interconnect uses Esprit Eh 50 connectors, which have a copper body with a silver-plated copper center pin (5-micron silver). Esprit has developed several connector generations so that each range, the Beta RCA interconnect included, has an interface matched to it.

Which length of the Beta RCA interconnect should I choose?

Measure the run between the two components and add a little slack so the Beta RCA interconnect is not under tension. The Beta RCA interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs, and a short, direct run is usually the simplest choice.

What does the Beta RCA interconnect cost?

The Beta RCA interconnect is $529 for 0.6 m, $699 for 1.2 m, $869 for 1.8 m and $1,049 for 2.4 m per pair. Sales tax is included in the price of the Beta RCA interconnect, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Beta RCA interconnect made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Beta RCA interconnect by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Beta RCA interconnect usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
