Richard Cesari does not ask a power cord to improve the music. In his words, its job is simply to let the music through, and when a power cord is well designed, you stop hearing it.
The Esprit Celesta Audiophile Power Cord is a mains cable from Esprit's Celesta range. Each Celesta power cord is made by hand in Confolens, in France's Charente region, with a US plug and an IEC connector, in 1.5, 2 and 4 m.
“Using them I found them to be very quiet in operation and with a good bass improvement.”
— Janine Elliot, Hifi Pig, reviewing the previous-generation Celesta cables (2022)
A step up
Celesta marks a clear step up in the Esprit hierarchy, and the Celesta power cord is built to make that step. Esprit's goal at this level is a quieter, more stable and more natural transmission, which the Celesta power cord shares with every Celesta link. Esprit's own description of Celesta speaks of clearer micro-information, and the Celesta power cord is where many listeners first meet that idea. Richard Cesari has been making cables since 1996, and the Celesta power cord carries three decades of that work.
Made by hand in Confolens
Esprit's team designs and assembles the Celesta power cord by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Celesta power cord is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Celesta power cord is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.
Listening
Esprit describes Celesta's sound as refined, open and coherent, and it points to clearer micro-information and a more stable stage from the Celesta power cord.
Esprit shields its mains cables in full so they do not radiate into nearby interconnects and speaker cables, and the Celesta power cord is built that way. The conductors of the Celesta power cord are specified as Phase & Neutral: 11 AWG / Ground: 13-14 AWG, with a strand size of 0.37mm. The construction of the Celesta power cord is described as dual-shield twisted core with wrapped earth and outer shield. Esprit fits the Celesta power cord with its own US plug and IEC connector, in polymer shells as on its Alpha, Beta and Celesta cords.
Choosing your power cord
The Celesta power cord is level 3 of Esprit's nine, above Beta and below Eterna. The Celesta power cord comes in 1.5, 2 and 4 m with a US plug and an IEC connector. If you would like a second opinion on the Celesta power cord for your system, we're happy to talk it through. The full Esprit collection shows the Celesta power cord alongside the rest of the family.

Questions
How does the Celesta power cord differ from the Beta power cord?
The Celesta power cord sits one level above the Beta power cord. Compared with the Beta power cord, the Celesta power cord uses conductors of phase & neutral: 11 AWG / ground: 13-14 AWG; strand size 0.37mm.
How does the Eterna power cord compare with the Celesta power cord?
The Eterna power cord is the next level up from the Celesta power cord. Where it differs from the Celesta power cord, the Eterna power cord uses shielding specified as dual-shield twisted core with wrapped earth and outer shield plus polarization process.
Which plug does the Celesta power cord come with, and why do the photos look different?
The Celesta power cord we sell is supplied with a US plug and an IEC connector. Esprit's product photos show the European version of the Celesta power cord, so the plug on your cord will differ from the pictures.
