The story behind every Esprit speaker cable begins in 1996. That year Richard Cesari, a lifelong lover of music and hi-fi, began making cables, the work that leads to this speaker cable.

The Esprit Celesta Speaker Cable is a pair of loudspeaker cables from level 3 of Esprit's nine ranges. Each Celesta speaker cable is made by hand in Confolens, in France's Charente region, in 2, 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 m pairs with banana or spade terminations.

“The speaker cables gave a very tight reign on the music with extended bass and good transients.”

— Janine Elliot, Hifi Pig, reviewing the previous-generation Celesta cables (2022)

A step up

Celesta marks a clear step up in the Esprit hierarchy, and the Celesta speaker cable is built to make that step. Esprit's goal at this level is a quieter, more stable and more natural transmission, which the Celesta speaker cable shares with every Celesta link. The range relies on asymmetric twisted dielectrics, with insulation often reinforced by additional sheaths, and the Celesta speaker cable follows that approach. Celesta also introduces a partial-shielding concept, which Esprit credits with a more breathing, homogeneous presentation, and the Celesta speaker cable uses it.

Made by hand in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Celesta speaker cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Celesta speaker cable is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Celesta speaker cable is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

Listening

Esprit describes Celesta's sound as refined, open and coherent, and it points to clearer micro-information and a more stable stage from the Celesta speaker cable.

Esprit explains that a larger conductor section lowers resistance, which matters in a Celesta speaker cable because speaker links carry significant current. In listening, the company says, that lower resistance tends to bring a quieter background, firmer bass and freer dynamics from the Celesta speaker cable. The Celesta speaker cable combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Esprit specifies the shielding of the Celesta speaker cable as partial shielding with a silver-plated copper braid providing 100% optical coverage.

Questions

How does the Celesta speaker cable differ from the Beta speaker cable?

The Celesta speaker cable sits one level above the Beta speaker cable. Compared with the Beta speaker cable, the Celesta speaker cable uses 40 micron copper/silver multilayer plating, high-temperature PVC plus silicone insulation and shielding specified as partial shielding with a silver-plated copper braid providing 100% optical coverage.

How does the Eterna speaker cable compare with the Celesta speaker cable?

The Eterna speaker cable is the next level up from the Celesta speaker cable. Where it differs from the Celesta speaker cable, the Eterna speaker cable uses spades: 40 micron copper/silver multilayer plating, dielectric polarization and air insulation plus high-temperature PVC plus silicone insulation.

Banana or spade: which termination should I choose for the Celesta speaker cable?

The Celesta speaker cable is offered with banana or spade terminations made by Esprit, at the same price. Choose whichever your amplifier and loudspeaker terminals accept most securely, or send us the model names and we will check them for the Celesta speaker cable.

What does the Celesta speaker cable cost?

The Celesta speaker cable is $1,499 for 2 m, $1,799 for 2.5 m, $2,099 for 3 m, $2,699 for 4 m and $3,299 for 5 m per pair. Sales tax is included in the price of the Celesta speaker cable, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Celesta speaker cable made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Celesta speaker cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Celesta speaker cable usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
