The story behind every Esprit AES/EBU cable begins in 1996. That year Richard Cesari, a lifelong lover of music and hi-fi, began making cables, the work that leads to this AES/EBU cable.

The Esprit Eterna AES/EBU Digital Cable is a 110 ohm digital cable from Esprit's Eterna range. Esprit hand-builds the Eterna AES/EBU cable in Confolens, Charente, in 1 and 1.5 m. Like every current Esprit cable, the Eterna AES/EBU cable belongs to Generation 10.

A reference since 1999

The Eterna name has been an Esprit reference since 1999, and the Eterna AES/EBU cable belongs to its tenth generation. Esprit calls this generation a turning point in its range, and the Eterna AES/EBU cable is part of the step it describes. Esprit describes Eterna links as built on reinforced conductor density and optimized dielectrics, often with air insulation and more evolved shielding, the brief behind the Eterna AES/EBU cable.

Made in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eterna AES/EBU cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eterna AES/EBU cable is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eterna AES/EBU cable is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

What you hear

Esprit hears a clear gain in silence, image depth and precision at the Eterna level, and it describes the Eterna AES/EBU cable as more open, more nuanced and more immersive.

Its connectors are Esprit's own Eh 100 type, built around a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating, because Esprit designs a connector on the Eterna AES/EBU cable as an extension of the conductor itself. Inside, the Eterna AES/EBU cable uses a triax construction, insulated in polyamide imide rated to thermal class 200°. Esprit specifies the shielding of the Eterna AES/EBU cable as triple fully shielded. For Esprit, a cable such as the Eterna AES/EBU cable should simply let the system express what it can do.

Where it fits

The Eterna AES/EBU cable is level 4 of Esprit's nine, above Celesta and below Aura. The Eterna AES/EBU cable is a 110 ohm cable with XLR connectors, offered in 1 and 1.5 m. Questions

How does the Eterna AES/EBU cable differ from the Celesta AES/EBU cable?

The Eterna AES/EBU cable sits one level above the Celesta AES/EBU cable. Compared with the Celesta AES/EBU cable, the Eterna AES/EBU cable uses Eh 100 connectors in place of Eh 50 and shielding specified as triple fully shielded.

Which connectors does the Eterna AES/EBU cable use?

The Eterna AES/EBU cable uses Esprit Eh 100 connectors, which have a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating. Esprit has developed several connector generations so that each range, the Eterna AES/EBU cable included, has an interface matched to it.

What is the Eterna AES/EBU cable used for?

The Eterna AES/EBU cable carries an AES/EBU digital signal between components with XLR digital sockets, such as a transport or streamer and a DAC. The Eterna AES/EBU cable is a 110 ohm cable, the impedance Esprit specifies for this link.

What does the Eterna AES/EBU cable cost?

The Eterna AES/EBU cable is $1,299 for 1 m and $1,599 for 1.5 m. Sales tax is included in the price of the Eterna AES/EBU cable, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Eterna AES/EBU cable made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Eterna AES/EBU cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Eterna AES/EBU cable usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
