Esprit asks a phono cable neither to color the sound nor to compensate for anything. In the company's view, a phono cable should be as transparent as possible, so that the system's own qualities can come through.

The Esprit Eterna Phono Tonearm Cable is a pair of tonearm cables from Esprit's Eterna range. Esprit hand-builds the Eterna phono cable in Confolens, Charente, in 1.2 and 1.8 m pairs and three connection types.

A reference since 1999

The Eterna name has been an Esprit reference since 1999, and the Eterna phono cable belongs to its tenth generation. Esprit calls this generation a turning point in its range, and the Eterna phono cable is part of the step it describes. Esprit describes Eterna links as built on reinforced conductor density and optimized dielectrics, often with air insulation and more evolved shielding, the brief behind the Eterna phono cable.

Made in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eterna phono cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eterna phono cable is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eterna phono cable is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

What you hear

Esprit hears a clear gain in silence, image depth and precision at the Eterna level, and it describes the Eterna phono cable as more open, more nuanced and more immersive.

The Eterna phono cable combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Its connectors are Esprit's own Eh 100 type, built around a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating, because Esprit designs a connector on the Eterna phono cable as an extension of the conductor itself. Esprit specifies the shielding of the Eterna phono cable as non-floating, filtered single shielded in pure silver plated copper. Each conductor of the Eterna phono cable is made of 40 strands of 40 AWG.

Where it fits

The Eterna phono cable is level 4 of Esprit's nine, above Celesta and below Aura. The Eterna phono cable is offered RCA to RCA, DIN to RCA or DIN to XLR, in 1.2 and 1.8 m, so check the output of your tonearm and the input of your phono stage. Questions

How does the Eterna phono cable differ from the Celesta phono cable?

The Eterna phono cable sits one level above the Celesta phono cable. Compared with the Celesta phono cable, the Eterna phono cable uses Eh 100 connectors in place of Eh 50 and shielding specified as non-floating, filtered single shielded in pure silver plated copper.

Which connectors does the Eterna phono cable use?

The Eterna phono cable uses Esprit Eh 100 connectors, which have a pure copper body and center pin with 10-micron silver plating. Esprit has developed several connector generations so that each range, the Eterna phono cable included, has an interface matched to it.

Which connection should I order for the Eterna phono cable?

The Eterna phono cable is made RCA to RCA, DIN to RCA, or DIN to XLR. Look at the socket on your tonearm base and the input on your phono stage, or send us both model names and we will confirm the right Eterna phono cable for them.

What does the Eterna phono cable cost?

The Eterna phono cable ranges from $1,699 to $2,349 per pair, depending on the options you choose. Sales tax is included in the price of the Eterna phono cable, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Eterna phono cable made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Eterna phono cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Eterna phono cable usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
