Esprit asks a speaker cable neither to color the sound nor to compensate for anything. In the company's view, a speaker cable should be as transparent as possible, so that the system's own qualities can come through.

The Esprit Eureka Speaker Cable is a pair of loudspeaker cables from level 7 of Esprit's nine ranges. Esprit hand-builds the Eureka speaker cable in Confolens, Charente, in 2, 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 m pairs with banana or spade terminations.

“They delivered the highest silence without disturbing rhythm and musical flow.”

— Joël Chevassus, 6moons, reviewing the previous-generation Eureka loom (2018)

The idea

Esprit sees Eureka as a decisive step, the range in which advanced filtering and stabilization reach every link, the Eureka speaker cable included. Its description of the range mentions very high conductor density, dielectrics chosen to suit each application, and air and Nomex insulation, the framework in which the Eureka speaker cable is built. Polarization is reinforced at this level, up to double polarization on some links, to make the Eureka speaker cable more coherent still.

Made in Confolens

Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eureka speaker cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eureka speaker cable is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eureka speaker cable is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.

Listening

Esprit promises exceptional silence in operation from the Eureka speaker cable, with greater separation between the planes of the stage, remarkable precision and a rarely reached realism.

Esprit explains that a larger conductor section lowers resistance, which matters in a Eureka speaker cable because speaker links carry significant current. In listening, the company says, that lower resistance tends to bring a quieter background, firmer bass and freer dynamics from the Eureka speaker cable. The Eureka speaker cable combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Air forms part of the insulation of the Eureka speaker cable, as specified: triple insulation on air + high-temperature polyvinyl chloride (PVC) + silicone.

Where it fits

The Eureka speaker cable is level 7 of Esprit's nine, above Lumina and below Gaia. Pairs of the Eureka speaker cable come in 2, 2.5, 3, 4 and 5 m, with banana or spade terminations, so measure the run from amplifier to speaker and allow a little slack. Questions

How does the Eureka speaker cable differ from the Lumina speaker cable?

The Eureka speaker cable sits one level above the Lumina speaker cable. Compared with the Lumina speaker cable, the Eureka speaker cable uses triple insulation on air plus high-temperature PVC plus silicone insulation.

How does the Gaia speaker cable compare with the Eureka speaker cable?

The Gaia speaker cable is the next level up from the Eureka speaker cable. Where it differs from the Eureka speaker cable, the Gaia speaker cable uses quadruple air insulation plus high-temperature PVC plus silicone insulation and shielding specified as partial shielding with a silver-plated copper braid providing 100% optical coverage plus full shielding on air.

Does the Eureka speaker cable use dielectric polarization?

Yes. Esprit lists the polarization of the Eureka speaker cable as "Yes, Double process". On the Eureka speaker cable, a continuous voltage keeps the insulators in a stable state, which Esprit says limits dielectric relaxation and absorption for more coherent, quieter transmission.

What does the Eureka speaker cable cost?

The Eureka speaker cable is $12,999 for 2 m, $14,999 for 2.5 m, $16,999 for 3 m, $20,999 for 4 m and $24,999 for 5 m per pair. Sales tax is included in the price of the Eureka speaker cable, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.

Where is the Eureka speaker cable made, and when will it ship?

Esprit builds every Eureka speaker cable by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Eureka speaker cable usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
