A new Esprit XLR interconnect begins with patience. Richard Cesari describes the work as testing, listening and starting again, because changing one detail in an XLR interconnect moves the whole balance.
The Esprit Eureka XLR Balanced Interconnect is a pair of balanced interconnects from Esprit's Eureka range. Esprit hand-builds the Eureka XLR interconnect in Confolens, Charente, in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs. Like every current Esprit cable, the Eureka XLR interconnect belongs to Generation 10.
“Eureka undoubtedly added more texture and density.”
— Joël Chevassus, 6moons, reviewing the previous-generation Eureka loom (2018)
The idea
Esprit sees Eureka as a decisive step, the range in which advanced filtering and stabilization reach every link, the Eureka XLR interconnect included. Its description of the range mentions very high conductor density, dielectrics chosen to suit each application, and air and Nomex insulation, the framework in which the Eureka XLR interconnect is built. Polarization is reinforced at this level, up to double polarization on some links, to make the Eureka XLR interconnect more coherent still. Eh 200 connectors complete the Eureka XLR interconnect.
Made in Confolens
Esprit's team designs and assembles the Eureka XLR interconnect by hand in its workshop in Confolens, Charente. Richard Cesari insists that assembly counts as much as materials, so each Eureka XLR interconnect is checked at every stage of the work. The first complete check of the Eureka XLR interconnect is made by the person who built it, and nothing moves on until it has been validated.
Listening
Esprit promises exceptional silence in operation from the Eureka XLR interconnect, with greater separation between the planes of the stage, remarkable precision and a rarely reached realism.
The Eureka XLR interconnect combines PVC and silicone insulation: Esprit associates the firmer PVC with density and bass weight, and the softer silicone with a more fluid, open midrange and treble. Air forms part of the insulation of the Eureka XLR interconnect, as specified: multilayer high-temperature polyvinyl chloride (PVC) + silicone on air + kynar. Polarization on the Eureka XLR interconnect holds its insulators under a continuous voltage so they stay in a stable state, which Esprit links to clearer micro-detail, a more structured stage and greater fluidity.
Where it fits
The Eureka XLR interconnect is level 7 of Esprit's nine, above Lumina and below Gaia. The Eureka XLR interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m lengths. Questions
How does the Eureka XLR interconnect differ from the Lumina XLR interconnect?
The Eureka XLR interconnect sits one level above the Lumina XLR interconnect. Compared with the Lumina XLR interconnect, the Eureka XLR interconnect uses multilayer high-temperature PVC plus silicone on air plus Kynar insulation and shielding specified as non-floating, triple full plus partially shielded on air.
Does the Eureka XLR interconnect use dielectric polarization?
Yes. Esprit lists the polarization of the Eureka XLR interconnect as "Yes". On the Eureka XLR interconnect, a continuous voltage keeps the insulators in a stable state, which Esprit says limits dielectric relaxation and absorption for more coherent, quieter transmission.
Which length of the Eureka XLR interconnect should I choose?
Measure the run between the two components and add a little slack so the Eureka XLR interconnect is not under tension. The Eureka XLR interconnect comes in 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 and 2.4 m pairs, and a short, direct run is usually the simplest choice.
What does the Eureka XLR interconnect cost?
The Eureka XLR interconnect is $9,999 for 0.6 m, $13,999 for 1.2 m, $18,499 for 1.8 m and $22,999 for 2.4 m per pair. Sales tax is included in the price of the Eureka XLR interconnect, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.
Where is the Eureka XLR interconnect made, and when will it ship?
Esprit builds every Eureka XLR interconnect by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Eureka XLR interconnect usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
