Richard Cesari, who founded Esprit, thinks of a hi-fi system as a chain, and a power cord is one of its links. A beautiful source and a fine amplifier can still lose the essential, he says, if the signal is harmed on its way through a power cord.
The Esprit Gaia Audiophile Power Cord is a mains cable from Esprit's Gaia range. The Gaia power cord is assembled by hand at Esprit's workshop in Confolens, with a US plug and an IEC connector, in 1.5 and 2 m.
Heritage
Esprit calls Gaia the culmination of the technologies it has developed, its most advanced architectures at their highest maturity, and the Gaia power cord is made in that spirit. Conductor density in the range is very high, built from pure copper strands of differentiated sections and, on some links, solid silver, and the Gaia power cord draws on that work. Dielectric polarization is exploited to the full, and soft and hard insulators are combined for what Esprit calls a rare balance of bass hold, fluid mids and harmonic coherence in the Gaia power cord.
By hand, in Charente
In Confolens, Charente, the Gaia power cord is made the way Esprit has always worked, entirely by hand. Esprit says this hand method lets it control every step of making the Gaia power cord and keep each one consistent. Each Gaia power cord then passes two complete inspections, one by its assembler and one at final packing, before it leaves the workshop. It is unhurried work, and the Gaia power cord is made at its pace.
What you hear
Esprit speaks of extreme transparency, a three-dimensional stage and impressive stability from the Gaia power cord. Its own summary of the Gaia sound is the finesse of the studio joined to the organic intensity of live music, an aim the Gaia power cord is built to serve.
Esprit shields its mains cables in full so they do not radiate into nearby interconnects and speaker cables, and the Gaia power cord is built that way. The conductors of the Gaia power cord are specified as Phase - Neutral - Ground: 9-10 AWG, with a strand size of 0.37mm. The construction of the Gaia power cord is described as dual-shield twisted core with wrapped earth and outer shield plus quadruple polarization process.
Finding your place in the range
The Gaia power cord is level 8 of Esprit's nine, above Eureka and below L'Esprit. The Gaia power cord comes in 1.5 and 2 m with a US plug and an IEC connector. We're always glad to help you choose, so write to us about the Gaia power cord at any time. You can see the Gaia power cord beside the other Esprit ranges in our Esprit collection.

Questions
How does the Gaia power cord differ from the Eureka power cord?
The Gaia power cord sits one level above the Eureka power cord. Compared with the Eureka power cord, the Gaia power cord uses shielding specified as dual-shield twisted core with wrapped earth and outer shield plus quadruple polarization process.
Is the Gaia power cord polarized and shielded?
Yes. Esprit specifies the Gaia power cord with a quadruple polarization process, and the Gaia power cord is fully shielded, as Esprit shields all its mains cables so they do not radiate into nearby interconnects and speaker cables.
Which plug does the Gaia power cord come with, and why do the photos look different?
The Gaia power cord we sell is supplied with a US plug and an IEC connector. Esprit's product photos show the European version of the Gaia power cord, so the plug on your cord will differ from the pictures.
What does the Gaia power cord cost?
The Gaia power cord is $11,999 for 1.5 m and $15,999 for 2 m. Sales tax is included in the price of the Gaia power cord, and we deliver it free anywhere in the USA.
Where is the Gaia power cord made, and when will it ship?
Esprit builds every Gaia power cord by hand in its workshop in Confolens, France. The Gaia power cord usually ships in about 2 weeks, with free delivery anywhere in the USA and sales tax included in the price.
