About the NuPrime-X Card-AoIP-96A

The NuPrime-X Card-AoIP-96A is an Audio over IP interface for the NuPrime Fusion-X platform, carrying up to 16 channels of uncompressed, high-resolution audio over a network. It installs in a Fusion-X expansion slot and connects NuPrime-X components to each other, and to other AES67 equipment, with network cable instead of multichannel analog wiring. At HiFi Boutique it ships free anywhere in the USA, with sales tax already included.

Why Choose the Card-AoIP-96A

Network audio carries many channels over a single cable with precise clocking and low latency, which suits immersive home theater, studio work and multi-room systems. With AES67 mode enabled the card runs at a fixed 48kHz for standards compliance; with it disabled, it runs at up to 96kHz/24-bit.

Routing is a point-and-click operation in NuPrime's controller software for Windows, and Dante Controller can be used on Windows or macOS. All AoIP devices on a network must use the same sampling rate.

Connections & Compatibility

Who It's For and System Pairing

The Card-AoIP-96A is for building a networked immersive system from NuPrime-X components. In NuPrime's example, an H16-AIP decodes Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 from HDMI and sends it over the network to two MCX-800AD amplifiers fitted with this card, one handling channels 1 to 8 and the other channels 9 to 12. The Fusion 8D DAC has a dedicated slot for it. Browse the full NuPrime collection to build out your system.

FAQ

Which NuPrime products accept it?

It installs in Fusion-X expansion slots, including the Fusion 8D, which has a dedicated AoIP slot, and the MCX-800AD.

Is it a Dante device?

It uses a different AoIP module, but in AES67 mode it interoperates with Dante, Ravenna and other AES67 equipment. Newer versions of Dante Controller show a harmless message noting that NuPrime devices are not Dante devices.

What sample rates does it support?

Up to 96kHz/24-bit with AES67 mode disabled, and a fixed 48kHz with AES67 mode enabled. All AoIP devices on the network must use the same sampling rate.

Why are there two Ethernet ports?

The primary port connects to your network, and the secondary port lets you daisy-chain another device without a switch.

What warranty does the NuPrime-X Card-AoIP-96A have?

NuPrime lists a 1-year manufacturer warranty for the Card-AoIP-96A.

Does HiFi Boutique charge shipping or sales tax on the Card-AoIP-96A?

No. The Card-AoIP-96A ships free anywhere in the USA, and sales tax is already included, so the price you see is what you pay.
