About the Silent Angel Munich MU
Silent Angel Munich MU is a high-performance music streamer that can drive your amplifier directly from its ESS SABRE DAC or feed an external DAC from its digital outputs. Bought from HiFi Boutique, an authorized Silent Angel dealer, it comes with a USA-based warranty and local dealer support.
MU is Roon Ready and also plays TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify Connect, DLNA, AirPlay 2 and internet radio. A 6-core processor (2 x A72 at 1.8 GHz plus 4 x A53 at 1.4 GHz) with 4 GB of memory runs Silent Angel's VitOS.
Analog and digital outputs
Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA outputs come from the internal ESS SABRE DAC. For an external DAC, AES/EBU, I2S and coaxial outputs carry up to PCM 384 kHz and DSD128, and USB audio reaches PCM 768 kHz and DSD256. Note that the I2S output is not compatible with Holo Audio DACs.
Two versions
V1 has a 10 MHz external clock input and V2 has a 25 MHz input, so you can match MU to your master clock. Both versions come in Black or Silver.
Build and storage
A TCXO clock, a radar-grade switching power supply and a double-layer chassis keep noise down. An M.2 2280 NVMe slot accepts an SSD of up to 4 TB (not included) for local music, alongside USB 3.0 x2 and USB 2.0 ports for external drives.
